Despina has many years of experience in one-to-one therapeutic work, and has trained at the largest and most widely respected counselling centre in London, the Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF). She has worked for the mental health charity, MIND UK and also works in her own private practice.
She aims to improve an individual’s wellbeing and mental health, to resolve or mitigate troublesome behaviours, beliefs, compulsions, thoughts or emotions, and to improve relationships and social skills. In providing one-to-one open-ended or time-limited therapy for adults, she offers a safe and confidential space enabling an understanding of the factors influencing unhelpful patterns in your life. Whilst exploring deep feelings can be painful and difficult it can also be a source of relief and generate real change.
Despina deals with a wide range of issues, including, but not limited to: Abuse, addiction, anger, anxiety, bereavement, depression, eating disorders, low self-esteem, panic attacks, relationship and family difficulties, self-harm, sexuality and identity, trauma and stress, and psychosomatic problems.
Despina aims to form a therapeutic alliance in order to embark on a road of self-discovery in order to find the causes of your distress or emotional suffering. She is trained to listen and accompany you on this journey.
